Youth from across the Wyoming Conference came together recently for the last Youth Alive. Many of the 170 teens and advisors called the event a huge success, possibly the best Youth Alive ever. The youth led gathering featured workshops, a fantastically funny fashion show and a glow in the dark dance. Four youth shared testimonies and four preached sermons during the time together at Camp Ladore in Waymart, Pennsylvania.
Conference Youth Coordinator Annette Snedaker reports, “Wayne Kerr was a hit AGAIN (of course it helps that he is a teenage hearthrob)! All in all, it was a great weekend. God was glorified!!!”
Wyoming Conference's Conference Council on Youth Ministries (CCYM) grew over this past 6 months from 4 to 40 youth, due to an effort that was youth driven.
Their next planned activity is reading a book called Do Hard Things (written by two teenage boys), which inspires youth to get up and go do something amazing AS A TEENAGER because God calls people of all ages to be active in changing the world! They will meet on January 29 for the book study in Syracuse and on that Saturday there is a CCYM meeting of all four New York conference CCYMs.
The CCYMs in the future Upper New York Conference will officially join as one as of January 30.
